Dave Goldfarb Seals & Spring Upgrade Kit (FFKM75-DG)

Give your airbrush a smoother, lighter trigger action by upgrading key sealing points and spring tension. This kit swaps out the standard “hard” sealing behavior for FFKM perfluoroelastomer O-rings (a high-performance fluorinated rubber), plus a soft air-valve spring to reduce trigger effort.

What’s included

  • 1× Air valve / trigger spring (soft)
  • 1× FFKM75-DG Trigger push pin O-ring
  • 1× FFKM75-DG Needle packing O-ring
  • 1× Clear polyurea grease

Why FFKM matters

FFKM (perfluoroelastomer) is a fluorinated elastomer—so it behaves like rubber (flexible and compliant) while being engineered for strong chemical resistance and high heat tolerance compared to common rubbers.

PTFE vs FFKM (quick comparison)

  • PTFE (Teflon-style): very resistant, but stiff and can feel “dry” or “grabby” in moving seal points.
  • FFKM: resistant and elastic, helping the seal conform with less friction around moving parts like the needle.

What you’ll notice in use

Smoother trigger feel

  • Lower friction at the needle packing can reduce “needle drag” during small pullbacks.
  • Better control when you’re working on fine lines, soft fades, and tight detail.

Lighter trigger motion

  • The included soft air-valve spring reduces downward resistance, so the trigger press feels easier and less fatiguing.

More consistent sealing behavior

  • A more compliant O-ring seal can feel steadier during long sessions, especially if your airbrush sees frequent cleaning cycles.

Best for

  • Detail work (portraits, micro lines, controlled shading)
  • Long painting sessions where trigger fatigue matters
  • Users who want a smoother “feel” without changing the airbrush itself

Installation notes (keep it clean)

  • Use very little polyurea grease: a thin film is enough.
  • If your needle packing is adjustable, avoid over-tightening (too tight = drag; too loose = leaks).
  • After installing, do a quick test: air on/off + small trigger pulls + check for bubbling/leaks.
